Bryan picked up this book (Rick Warren's Bible Study Methods) recently and we have decided to work through it together.... well individually, but at the same time- does that mean the same thing? not sure- anyway-
This book has about 12 different ways to study- Examples ..
Devotional, Chapter Summary, Character Quality, Thematic, Biographical, Topical, Word Study, Book Background, Book Survey. Chapter Analysis, book Synthesis, Verse by Verse...
Or your own??
What study method do you prefer?
My default is typically a word study/cross reference approach- I am excited interested in looking at things I have studied before from a new perspective...
We are starting with Psalm 19- the"Chapter summary"
Reading it 5 times through, once aloud
Giving it a title, Summarize the contents, listing the chief people included, identifying my choice verse, listing crucial words (for word study later!!)
Noting challenges, reading any cross references, identifying types of Christ seen in the passage, the central lessons, and a conclusion.

i think i lean toward more of a chapter summary also. dissecting in mind what each verse means collaboratively and repeating it to myself until the Holy Spirit says yeah this particular part is for you at this moment. God is amazing!! thanks for sharing.
